# Callouts

Callouts are `:::` blocks. Use them sparingly: one or two on a page. A page full of warnings reads as a page with no warnings.

## Needs Austin's review

Use this for anything Austin must sign off before it ships: T&T rules, scoring math, pricing, refunds, data privacy, and advice that depends on an unsettled decision.

You can give it a sharper title:

Remove the callout only once Austin has approved the statement, and mention the approval in the commit message.

## What the rulebook says

Use `:::rule` to quote or paraphrase the USA Gymnastics rulebook. See [Cite the rulebook](/style-guide/rulebook-citations/) for the exact pattern.

## The standard four

| Callout | Use it for | Example |
| -- | -- | -- |
| `:::note` | Extra context the reader can skip. | Rehearsal scores never appear on scorsync.com. |
| `:::tip` | A faster or easier way. | Press ⌘K to find any athlete. |
| `:::caution` | Something that could cost time or need a redo. | Unlocking the schedule lets coaches see changes. |
| `:::danger` | Something that loses scores or stops the meet. | Quit stops scoring for every judge. |
